Where are Minnie Faux items made?

All MINNIE FAUX items are made in New Zealand, usually the Kāpiti Coast or Hawke's Bay. MF clothing is made from natural fabrics - linen, cotton, wool - and is washed after being made so there is no shrinkage.

BLACKBIRD items are rescues/imports. They are carefully chosen to complement MF designs and help build outfits & capsules. Usually black, off-white, or denim. Then we have fun with them - sometimes refashioned, often embellished (paint and/or embroidery), and always wear/shrink/quality tested by us. 

Sizing?

Most of our clothing is One Size. It fits most women who are between the NZ/Australian sizes 10 to 20.
Minnie Faux sizingOur clothes generally have a loose relaxed fit. There is more info in the individual item listings. Normally we lay the garment flat and then measure across them. 

You can compare these measurements to a piece of clothing that you already own.

How do I pay?

Payment is accepted through PayPal.

You don't have to have a PayPal account, you can still pay using a debit or credit card. [After you've clicked on Buy, look below the big PayPal login logo and the link will be there.] Note that we cannot see your card details when you use PayPal, they just let us know when the payment has been made. You can use all the usual cards - Visa, Mastercard, Amex etc.

We also accept online bank payments from NZ Customers. Email us when you get to the payment section and we will send you the bank account details.

How do I get free shipping?

We offer free shipping for:

  • New Zealand delivery - orders over NZ$200
  • Australian delivery - orders over NZ$250
  • Rest of the world - orders over NZ$400, sorry but look how far away from you we are!

How long will it take?

We usually pack and ship your order on the next business day.

Then it is in the hands of NZ Post and courier companies. Delivery times are variable at the moment and are often affected by supply chain issues. We will email you a tracking number when we send your parcel. You can track your parcel on their website and contact them if you have any questions about delivery.

When shipping cost applies, how much will it be?

Shipping will be a flat rate of:

  • New Zealand = $10.00, 3-10 working days, tracked.
  • Australia = NZ$20.00, 3-10 working days, tracked.
  • Europe/UK/USA or other countries = NZ$40.00, 3-10 working days, tracked.

Shipping is added to your order automatically when you reach the final stages of checkout.

The estimated times are from NZPost.

What about international customs taxes/fees/duties?

If you live outside New Zealand, please be aware that local customs or import duties/taxes/fees may be charged when your parcel reaches your country. You (or the person named on the address label) are responsible for these charges and the consequences if they are not paid. The post-Brexit UK seems to be most 'interesting' for this!

It is a legal requirement for us to attach a full customs declaration to the outside of each international package that we send. This includes listing all items and their full value. 

What happens if the package is lost/damaged?

Please note that in the unlikely event that your order is lost, damaged or stolen and you notify us of a lost or damaged package we will follow up with New Zealand Post and refund you any compensation that they eventually decide to pay. You can also follow up with them. We send all parcels tracked so we can both see its progress through the system. 

If the package does arrive damaged, remember to take photos before you open it up to check the contents, so we have proof for the claim.

Returns and exchanges:

If you are not happy with your purchases from Minnie Faux, please email us within 7 days of delivery and we will do what we can to fix the problem, which may include returning the item for an exchange. 

If you want to return an item you need to contact us first, and we will then advise the return address. You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping needs to be tracked to protect us both.

We do not accept returns of any item that is not in its original packaging and condition with its tags attached, or has been washed, used, or is damaged in any way. Unless the item was defective in which case we will refund the original price on receipt of the return. We do not offer a refund or exchange on sale items. 

Flaws & hearts

Natural fabrics have natural flaws! OMG who’d have thought that? If we see a flaw in the fabric of a garment and we’re not convinced it will last through the years you will see that it has been reinforced with a heart.
